POSTPONED Special Offa: Communities and Offa’s Dyke

The Offa’s Dyke Collaboratory – a research network exploring the archaeology, history and heritage of Britain’s greatest linear earthwork and its landscape context – is organising a free public event on Saturday 4th April 2020 at Trefonen Village Hall (Trefonen, Shropshire).

Register from 10am for talks from 10.15am-1pm. The morning will comprise a series of talks by researchers and communitiy groups exploring Offa’s Dyke and its environs from Prestatyn to Chepstow.  Be one of the  first to hear about the first conservation management project for Offa’s Dyke in both England and Wales  in the 1200 year history of the earthwork monument.

There will also be stalls selling relevant books and with information about the landscapes of the Anglo-Welsh borderlands past and present.

A buffet lunch will be available free of charge. Alternatively, delegates can find their own food, for instance at the adjacent Barlow Mow Pub with the Offa’s Dyke Brewery attached.
